The Beginning of ICW Ghana
ICW Ghana was born from a moment of unexpected opportunity and a deep-rooted passion for healthcare and medicine. Driven by a long-standing interest in the medical field and meaningful community service, our founding President sought ways to contribute to healthcare beyond the classroom.
That search led to International Children's Wellness (ICW) โ a medical-student-led organization in the United States focused on pediatric cancer advocacy and support. After applying to volunteer, an invitation to meet the founders arrived two weeks later โ and a single conversation about the urgent global challenges in pediatric cancer became a turning point.
Offered the chance to establish and lead the organization in Ghana, our founder committed to the vision without hesitation, and assembled a team of eight highly motivated young people who shared the same belief: that every child deserves a fighting chance against cancer.
Support Our Work
In less than five months, ICW Ghana has grown from a vision into real, youth-led impact โ and this is only the beginning.
To advance the health and wellness of children across Ghana โ improving awareness, early detection, support and acceptance for children facing health challenges, from pediatric cancer to autism and neurodiversity, particularly in underserved communities. Through awareness campaigns, workshops, fundraising and collaborations, we bridge the gap between knowledge and real-world care and understanding.
A world where every child, regardless of socioeconomic background or ability, has access to timely care, the support they need, and a community that understands and accepts them โ where children's wellness, from physical health to neurodiversity, is accessible, equitable and sustainable.
An unwavering commitment to ensuring that no child faces a health challenge without hope, care, or support. We believe early detection saves lives, that awareness and acceptance change lives, and that true wellness extends beyond medicine to emotional and psychological well-being.

What Guides Us
Every child and family we support is met with kindness, dignity and genuine care.
A child's care and acceptance should not depend on their family's income or their differences. We fight for equal access.
We equip families, communities and young leaders with knowledge and the confidence to act.
Recognising warning signs early gives children the best possible chance of survival.
We champion cost-effective, research-driven approaches that make care sustainable.
We partner with hospitals, researchers and community groups to widen our impact.
